I never know what direction a project will go when I begin. Whatever my intentions may have been initially, Liberation grew darker and more atmospheric during recording. As it revealed itself, I began to be transfixed by the slow, droning nature of this work. My state of mind corresponded as both the recording and my awareness became more measured and deliberate.

The original sound sources are almost entirely metallic. These were acoustically recorded and digitally manipulated.
